Wed. 3/30

Today we continued with a lesson on systems of equations.11.2 We've got A LOT more to do with systems, but today is a continuation of yesterday.

Homework: Finish any unfinished classwork, pg. 603-604 in addition to talk the talk pg. 619.then do textbook pages 602-606 (Problem 2). You can use Desmos instead of doing the table and graph by paper if you prefer.

Tues 3/29

We dove into Chapter 11 today with an introduction to systems of equations in Lesson 11.1. We've got A LOT more to do with systems, but today was a good introduction for us.

For those that were absent today, be sure to do all of Problem 1 on your own before attempting your homework. You can use this blank copy of 11.1 if you haven't ripped out your textbook pages yet.

Homework: Finish any unfinished classwork, then do textbook pages 602-606 (Problem 2). You can use Desmos instead of doing the table and graph by paper if you prefer.

Wed. 3/9

We finished out the chapter today with Lesson 10.4 where we investigated the slopes of parallel and perpendicular lines.

Instead of working through the textbook pages, we did a Desmos Activity that covered the same concepts. If you didn't finish it in class, please do so at home tonight. Head to student.desmos.com and type in the corresponding class code.

If you were absent today, you're welcome to either do the 10.4 textbook pages, or the Desmos Activity instead. Just make sure you do one of them to prepare for tomorrow's test.

Tues 3/8

We wrapped up Lesson 10.3 today using all the new concepts we've learned to find missing angle measures.

We'll finish Chapter 10 tomorrow with Lesson 10.4 and an awesome Desmos Activity. Then we'll take our Chapter 10 test on Thursday.

If you're going to be absent this week, I encourage you to do your work ahead of time so you're ready for the test!

Homework: Textbook page 561

Thurs. 3/3

Today we worked on pages 549-554 in Lesson 10.3, investigating the relationships formed by all the pairs of angles we learned about yesterday.

Some of the key pairs of angles are congruent, some are supplementary, and some have no relation at all, depending on whether or not the two lines are parallel.

Need a protractor at home? Here's a printable protractor that'll help you out until you can purchase a plastic one.

Homework: Finish textbook pages 553-554

Wed 3/2

We began our look at pairs of angles today with this Parallel Lines Cut by a Transversal activity. Here's a copy of a pdf version for those that don't have PowerPoint at home.

If you were absent today, you'll want to complete the activity linked above before doing your homework. You'll need this Math Is Fun website to learn the meanings of the following terms:

  • Transversal
  • Parallel lines
  • Vertical angles
  • Corresponding angles
  • Alternate interior angles
  • Alternate exterior angles
  • Same-side interior angles (consecutive interior angles)
  • Same-side exterior angles (consecutive exterior angles)

Homework: Textbook pages 550-551 (Problem 3)

Tues 3/1

Today we finished up Lesson 10.2, focusing on solving for unknown angles measures using all our new key terms.

Homework: Textbook pages 542-544
